Health & Safety at Astrocamp
At Astrocamp, the health and safety of our campers is our number one concern. We strive to make sure that every activity is designed with safety in mind. All of our counselors and instructors are certified in First Aid and CPR. When a camper is sick or hurt they are immediately taken to the resident camp nurse for treatment. The camp is also located within 1 hour of a hospital in case of emergency. Before a child steps onto the campus for the summer program our counselors and instructors go through rigorous training on how to deal with emergencies and handle difficult situations with tact and grace that might arise with campers. You can be sure that your child is in goods hands while at Astrocamp because we are accredited by the American Camping Association and the Western Association of Independent Camps (the two leading camping associations in the country). There are simple steps your camper can take to avoid getting sick while at camp. Encourage healthy habits like washing their hands before meals and after using the bathroom and showering and changing clothes everyday while at camp. Instruct your camper that eating a well balanced diet while at camp is a good idea (their counselor will do the same).
