Train For Outer Space!
Experience Microgravity You get to train like the astronauts do! You will experience the sensation of near weightlessness as you complete vital missions in our pool! To prepare, you will learn about what gravity is, how it works, and what “weightlessness” really is. Next, you will be briefed on your “mission” and you will discover how to communicate with one another in the vacuum of space. Once in the pool, you will break up into small groups and construct a communication satellite while floating in the water. Once everyone has finished their portion of the satellite you will put all the parts together to form one enormous satellite! | |
| Expedition Valles Marineris Valles Marineris on Mars is the largest canyon in the solar system – five times wider and deeper than the Grand Canyon in Arizona! For this activity, you will be transported to our research station on Mars and you will have the opportunity to take on Valles Marineris for yourself. Once you are strapped into your harness and given some instruction on how to climb, you will climb to heights of over 50 feet overcoming Martian obstacles while trying to reach the top. While you're on the ground, you will also get to use M.I.R.A (Mars Interactive Research Assistant) our interactive touch screen monitors that will allow you to learn more about Mars when you're not climbing it! |
