Space Rocks! Micrometeorites When will your students have the chance to collect and study real pieces of outer space again?! Students learn about comet, asteroids, and meteorites and even get to simulate impact craters! Then they hunt for micrometeorites all over camp with powerful magnets. Finally, each student uses their own microscope to sift through the magnetic particles, searching for their personal piece of the solar system that they can take home!

Planets If we’re only the third rock from the sun, what lies on all those other rocks? In our Planets class students discover the nature of our solar system and explore the possibilities of other solar systems in the galaxy. Instructors introduce the basics of planetary geology and discuss why Earth is so well suited for life while hypothesizing what extra-terrestrial life might be like. Students will even get to participate in making a mini-comet and fling it across our meadow!
